Let us introduce ourselves
We come from many different backgrounds. We include office, factory and retail workers; teachers and tradesmen; the employed, the self-employed and the unemployed; children, students and the retired; housewives and social workers.
We have different interests and pastimes. Our tastes in music, reading, food and clothes differ widely. We vote for different political parties and support different football teams, or none at all. Prefer different holiday destinations; listen to different radio and TV programmes; take different newspapers…..In short, we are as varied a bunch as you’ll find anywhere.
We have one thing in common, that is more important to us than all our differences. We have found Jesus Christ, God’s Son, to be real. We have each, in our own way, proved Him both in our daily lives and at those moments of crisis which come to us all.
We are an independent and self-funded church affiliated to the Evangelical Alliance, which is a mainstream grouping of like-minded Christian churches. We are also members of the:
We believe in reflecting the principles of love and care that Jesus taught by being actively involved in the community around us.
We would like to introduce you to Jesus too. We would like you to have the chance to find out how Jesus can be real in your life. How He can meet your needs.
If you would like us to visit you, or would prefer to visit us, just give us a call. You’ll find us friendly and not pushy. You’ll be in control. You may ask any questions you like and we’ll try to answer. If we aren’t able to, we’ll say so, and try to find out the answer for you.
If you are interested in finding out more about Christianity, to see if there is anything in it for you, an ideal way is to come on one of our Alpha Courses. Not only will you have a great time but you’ll get fed too &, what’s more, it’s all FREE! To book your place or for more details email alpha@wickfordchurch.org.uk.
Alternatively, come along to one of our social events. From time to time we hold quiz nights and other events where you can get to know us in a social setting. We would be pleased to inform you next time we hold one. But why wait? Come along to one of our regular activities. On Tuesday and Friday evenings there is Badminton. Then the first and third Tuesday each month there is Busy Bee’s Sewing Circle for anyone interested in any form of needlecraft. For widows and widowers we have a local chapter of New Beginnings meeting once a month.
If you have young children you may be interested in our Parent & Toddler group. For children between the ages of 3 & 6 there is Tiny-mites while for 7+ we have Dyn-a-mites. Our Sunday morning Family Services also have a crèche and Sunday School for the children.
